Episode 42 Jason reviews a 2010 World Racers set called Desert of Destruction. This set comes with 961 pieces and 8 mini figures (2 green racers, 2 red racers, 3 green team mechanics, 1 racing official). LEGO 8864 also comes with the green team racing vehicle which is kinda of like a dune buggy equipped with 4 flick missiles. There is also a green team rig which has a gas tank, spare engine, tools, crane and also equipped with a weapon…a larger automatic missile. The green team will take on the red racing team which is more of a truck-style vehicle equipped with a cannon on the back. Set also comes with the winners podium and a trophy. Comes with over 60 stickers.
Retail price for this is around $89.99USD which comes to about 9.4 ¢ per piece. This is the very first review we’ve done from the new World Racers themed sets. Very good value on this set with the 3 sweet rides, 9 mini figures. We LOVE the green team racer minifigs. Their helmets are bad to the bone.
