Episode 57 Jason reviews a 2009 Pirates set called Soldiers Fort. LEGO 6242 comes with 367 pieces, 7 mini figures, the soldiers’ fort and a boat. Mini figure include Captain Brickbeard, a pirate, 3 soldiers We also get a few animals including a crocodile, fish and monkey.
This is one of the most fun I’ve had building a set all year. The soldiers’ fort includes some great features including a pull-back cannon, prison cell, bridge, treasure chest, palm tree with hidden jewels under it, a wink and more. There is some really nice value with this set.
Retail price for this is around $49.99 USD which comes to about 13.6 ¢ per piece. Recommended ages are 6 – 12.
