Episode 64 Stephen reviews LEGO 8097, Boba Fett’s Slave I. This is a LEGO Star Wars set and was released in July of 2010. The set comes with 573 pieces and 3/4 mini figures including a GREAT Boba Fett (much more detailed than previous figures), Bossk and Han Solo in carbonite which fits over an actual Han Solo included minifig.
The Slave I itself is loaded with alot of storage compartments, one of which contains 2 side blue flick missiles. There is a great feature where the Slave I can shoot 4 smaller missiles out of the top of the ship. There is also fully rotating gun turrets at the back of the Slave I. The Han Solo in carbonite fits nicely under the back ramp, which then folds over the carbonite and Bossk can walk into the Slave 1.
The price point was definitely increased because of the popularity of both LEGO Star Wars sets and the past Slave 1 sets.
This set retails for $79.99 which comes to 13.9 ¢ per piece. Recommended ages is 9-14.
